Running away

At bedtime tonight, one of our three-year olds informed us that she was running away (I have to go with her though - and three other grown ups that she knows). We are going to her eldest brother's friend's house!

Awww reminds me of the morning I was woken around 6am by a knock on the door to find my 4 year old nephew standing there with a Tesco carrier bag full of toys. As I answered the door he said "i've come to live with you Auntie".

I rang my brother,who like the rest of the family were still sound asleep. They only lived a couple of 100 yards away but it was still scary how he unlocked the door and walked off on his own. Fortunatly it was mid summer so light and warm.

How sweet. When my son was small he was going to leave home. I packed him some sandwiches tied up in a large striped handkerchief and gave him a little case with his pyjamas in. He didn't go very far - just out to the garden in his little tent. Pity they have to grow up isn't it.

Aaaah, bless her sherrard. Whenever my mum told me off when I was small I used to say I was running away. I used to go to the end of the road and wait for my dad to come home from work on his moped and climb on the back and go home with him.

Make sure she takes her favourite toy or otherwise she'll be back (along with you and the other grown-ups) to get it :D

She's a complete scream - the others are so laid back. Wouldn't want to be her teacher when she starts school.

When my son was about 8-9 because I kept saying NO to his request for a special pair of trainers he got reall angry and announced he didn't want to live with me any longer & stormed upstairs packed his haversack & stormed out.
I kept an eye on him as he went up the street then followed him. It started to rain, then it poured. he sat under a bus stop. Bus came along but it passed. It was getting dark, I went up to him & said Dr Who is on soon, ya comin?
He talks about it now & says how glad he was to see me
(but he wasn't going to say so then)
