Got a camera phone?

turn the camera on and point the remote at it, press a few buttons and you should be able to see the IR light on the end of the remote flashing on your phones display if the remote is working.

(also make sure you've pressed the SKY button at the top of the remote so it is controlling the sky box)

hi chuck have tried that (amazing trick by the way) and the only button that shows up a light is the mute button. Yes always press sky button at top but it will not switch on box.
Firstly try another set of batteries (I know you've already done this once)

If that doesn't work then you may as well attempt to take it apart and clean it as you've got nothing to lose. if cleaning it doesn't work then replacement sky remotes are less than £20
