How do I stop mail shots from the RSPCA?

Since donating a considerable amount of money to the RSPCA in 2009 when one of their inspectors took an injured wild swan from our garden for treatment, I have been inundated with letters/mail shots from the Society. I think the organisation does wonderful work & I wish I could donate more but I am a pensioner with limited means. I just cannot donate to every good cause.

I have telephoned their office to ask them to take my details off their data base and I have also written to the Head Office. Sadly no-one takes any notice.

It upsets me when I have to throw all their mail shots in the bin. I think of all the wasted funds being spent on postage that could be directed to helping animals. I have also posted back some of the mail shots but anything I do makes no difference at all.

Can any of you give me an e-mail address so that I can once again make contact without the expense of postage? Please don't suggest putting the mail shots in a plain envelope without a stamp for return. I don't want the RSPCA to incur a penalty payment from the PO.

I will pass that on when i next see them.

I must say, all the people I have dealt with at NSPCC Head Office are very nice and exceptionally hardworking
How can I stop an organisation from sending me junk mail?
If you receive marketing that is addressed to you, the Data Protection Act gives you the right to tell an organisation to stop sending it to you.
You should write to them by letter or email to tell them to stop using your personal information to send you marketing. When they receive your request they must stop marketing you as soon as they can.
Suggested letter:

[Date]
Dear Sir or Madam
Notice under the Data Protection Act 1998 not to use my personal information for direct marketing.
I [your full name] of [your full address] require you to stop / not to begin processing personal information relating to me for direct marketing as soon as possible and in any event within 28 days of the date of this letter / email.
If you do not normally handle these requests for your organisation, please pass this letter to your Data Protection Officer or the person who does.
Please note that if you do not comply with this notice, I can apply to the court for an order against you under the Data Protection Act.
Yours faithfully
[Your name]

I actually wrote to the Head Office of the RSPCA last year, quite politely & in similar style to what I have written above, but they did absolutely nothing.

As I have said, I'd like to e-mail them, to save further postage, but can't find an e-mail address on any of the mail shots or on the website.
shoot them?
If you google 'rspca local offices receive no funding from head office' or something similar you will get loads of links to local branches stating categorically that they receive NO funding from head office.
I had the same trouble with the PDSA, While I admire the work they do it annoys me that they still send raffle tickets and other prize winning blurb, at the same time asking for ££££ not small donations. I just ignore them all.
Data protection

The RSPCA has comprehensive data protection policies. You have a right to know about the personal data the RSPCA holds about you. You have a right to object to the receipt of direct marketing or campaign information sent to you by the RSPCA.

Please address all enquiries about the RSPCA's data protection procedures to the Information Protection Officer at RSPCA, Wilberforce Way, Southwater, Horsham, West Sussex RH13 9RS.
