Does anyone know what figures would be a meter reading? gas or electric, i can't work it out, I have 2354.16 off the electric and either 607889 or 313.693 off the gas, if I was a meter reader i would have a flat cap but npower have emailed for one and so they must assume I;ve changed jobs

my meter in flat was economy 7, pressed once for day rate then pressed down for cheaper night rate. Was digital and had decimal points. Always cheaper at night so I'd set my washing machine for then
Randomly enough I had to go outside in my dressing gown earlier to check my electric meter and find something to open it with so I can prove to my provider that I don't owe them as much as they reckon I do. My gas meter at least is inside.

They drive me mad! Not only do they demand higher direct debits that I use then make it a huge faff to try and get a refund (a couple of hundred quid only last summer) they sent me a letter saying first I'm in credit on both accounts, then say I owe them a load of money on one account, now have sorted I'm in credit on one by quite a bit and debit on the other (which they sent me a snotty letter about) when I don't even owe them that much.

You'd think they could just transfer the credit to the debit but nooooo, that's just too simple! They tried to get me to stay in credit and pay more to the debit, not a chance! So now they are sending me a cheque for the credit balance, which can take up to 2 weeks, which I can then cash, wait to clear and transfer money back to them to put against the debit account...arghhhhh!

Sorry dotty, I needed the rant!

that sounds (and reads) like a right palavar, gave me a near headache deciphering that jenna!
I pay quarterly, it cost's £2.50 more but no hassle and they read the meter.
jenna I dont pay direct debit anymore, I put the money each month into a seperate account of mine, that way I get the interest! and I wait till the red bill as it costs them to keep sending them :-)
