I am currently using a very cheap freeview box through my tv to get a few extra channels till i get an led tv with freeview etc..I was just wondering if am likely to find more channels through my new tv which is quite expensive than the cheap freeview box i currently have? I would say i only have 16 or so television stations at the minute..

You should get much more than that, even with a Freeview box. Is it a very early box?Have you retuned it lately? Normally there should be no difference between a box and a tv with Freeview. I certainly haven't found any, and I have both systems in operation, operating from the same aerial.
the way I see it is

freeview is freeview. you get what your aerial picks up. You can have the cheap box, or the built in one, and its all the same.

Im perfectly happy with my cheap box...Film4, ITV2, 3 and 4, a multitude of radio channels, More 4, E4...the +1 channels, and more

Well i live in an area which isnt very good for freeview so i got a booster to help that fact.. If the booster wasnt there i wouldnt get any channels at all.. Is there anything i can do to get more channels?
Crap in, crap out, I'm afraid.
It's not about perceived signal strength .. it's about a quality signal.
You probably need a Fringe Antenna .. like a Triax Unix32 or better. Hi-Gain and Directional.
If you post your postcode .. or a town, I will calculate what you should receive .. and post back (in a few mins)
