Just changed my avatar (I think!) to show my GSD Rico with his dad who won the Pastoral Group at Crufts on Friday, so will be taking part in Best In Show tonight. He is called Rico as well, although his posh name is Ch Elmo Vom Huhnegrab. Go Rico!

That's really interesting. I often have a drink in the pub in Portesham in the summer evenings after a walk. I'll keep my eye open next time.

Jules, they are smelly, noisy and very disobedient - not for the faint hearted!
Really, oh, perhaps not, I knew they were disobedient, I didnt know the smelly bit. I am trying to persuade a friend to have one LOL.
Question Author
They have an oily coat, so are rarely bathed and although it is a characteristic smell after baby fresh Collies you will notice a big difference!
Question Author
Also as most hounds do they howl a lot. Can't let them off because they hunt by scent so just follow their noses.
congrats lankeela - have I missed the fun ?

Crufts is on More4 tomorrow at 11am
lankeela--- out of all those beautiful dogs in the final, it was Rico for me everytime. Always had GSDs, until recently , now have a rescue JR.
Thought Rico was a fantastic animal.
Question Author
brenda he is as good in the flesh as he looked on tv, so calm and laid back - a real gentleman of a dog. He is the reason I got my boy, I saw him the first time he did well at a show over here after coming from Germany and I found out he had been mated to a bitch I had given a Best of Breed to, so I asked if I could go and see the pups when they were born - just to look you understand! The rest is history and my boy is just as laid back as his dad but being a youngster he's a bit livelier with it. He loves everyone and everything and I was so pleased to see his dad doing the breed proud.
