Heart in mouth moments...

My came round..knocked on the door and when I answered it he said 'Look, there's a baby in the road' I came out of the house and there was a little black girl, about 18 months, toddling in the middle of the road. No one else in sight...

I ran over and picked her up....and the reason I mentioned her colour was because I've only seen one black family in the street..so had an idea which house she lived at...The father came to the door looking really flustered. They'd obviously been looking for...

Goes to show how easily it can happen...

I don't know...I think he only spotted her when he was waiting for the door to be answered.

A few years ago I cam home from work and was walking up my road when I saw a toddler following one of those giant exercise balls. The ball rolled out of the gate and into the road and the toddler was following it so I put my arm out to stop her from going further and started callin out "hello, hello...." in through the front door. I was calling out for about a minute, which is plenty of time for a child to walk out into the road, before someone came out. I told them what was about to happen with the ball and they were shocked and thankful that I had stopped her from walking out into it.

Thank goodness there is some sensible people about in time to stop accidents like this.

i found a little girl, about 2, wandering round the centre of town, near a major through road...
we had closed a nearby road for filming so i think she came to watch us.
i dread to think what could have happened to her...we had police at either end of the road too so they took care of her...she couldnt speak and didnt know where she lived...it was about 30 mins before the mother came out looking for her...
