My friend and her partner have an eight year old daughter. By choice she will be an only child, do you think this is a good decision or selfish on their part ?.
She would love a brother or sister, but mum or dad are really into their careers
I personally think its a case of whatever works for you is ok..

I dont think it was a case of being dictated to ummmm she just needed lots of reassurance, that she wouldn't be pushed out or would be loosing her mum to someone else. So if she is approved for a second time it could take years anyway.
I don't have a wide family network at all. In we both have none, but this hasn't affected us in any way - I can't see that it would have made any difference to having an only child. I have a well adjusted content son and I was a very content Mum and we both spent loads of time with him. He has a large network of friends all over the country and overseas and I was never a Mum who wanted her kid tied to her apron strings. In fact I probably encouraged him actively to spread his wings and grab all he could from life.
