Yes, it normally does. Are you sure it's flu? If you are worried, there should be an out-of-hours service near you. Contact them and see what they say.
er yes, it can and does.
Tamiflu may be given if severe, antibiotics are only given if it causes other infections.

stay home, wrap up and take over the counter remedies and see how you go.
Yes it should go away by itself. It'll take a few days but it will go. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and take some paracetemol if you have a temperature.
For how long have you been vomiting?
Any stomach pains?

I have profens ill take them but cant swallow
Ok Melissa...I agree with the other posters. Go to bed, sip water when you can, break the Ibuprofens up OR take a good gulp of Nightnurse.

You should feel better in 48 hours.
when i had flu, there was no way i could sit and type at a computer. There are all sorts of bugs going around at the moment, my daughter is on day 5 of something similar and there is no need for her to see a GP as she is showing no other symptoms other than raised temp, achy and tells me she feels sick.
have you taken any tablets? do they lower your temp?.

try doing something to take your mind off it, dont start to mope as thatll make things feel worse. Read a book, watch tv if you cant sleep.

bath time thankies
I have only had flu twice in my life and you would know it if it was real flu. I certainly couldn't read a book or watch tv. I could hardly get my head off the pillow it was aching so much. The kids playing in the next room (we lived in a prefab at the time) sounded like a herd of elephants tramping through my head. Ony thing to do is go to bed and stay there until it goes, as sqad says.
You wouldn't be able to manage taking a bath if you had a really bad dose of flu. It's difficult to even get out of bed. A bath would be out of the question until the worse of it was over. You will survive!!
Take all the above advice, and stop feeling so sorry for yourself - you're not dying!
