Gorillas

Did anyone see that thing on the news about the gorilla picking up a stick and using it as a walking aid and to check the depth of water as it crossed a river?  Pretty amazing stuff - we will soon be surpassed intellectually by primates I reckon.

I would suggest that we could use the Labour Party Conference as evidence that monkey-like things already intellectually surpass many of "us".

Laurinha I didn't see this article,however I am often surprised at some of the feats animals perform. I agree with you the way they seem to have the ability to solve problems is amazing,and I think we under estimate their talents !

I've always thought animals were intelligent. Look at most of them with their young. No one tells them what they have to do when they are born or how to look after them.

gorrilllas have reported their amazement that humans never knew that gorillas used tools

I know it sounds like quite a lame thing to be amazed about but NEVER before have Gorilla shown this ability.  Chimpanzees have, but never Gorilla.

To suggest that humans are intellectually superior to other primates is plain nuttiness, I don't know any other primate that watches football !!!!!!!!

And so sad that these wonderful creatures are still being hunted almost to extinction by poachers.  Why on earth are some people so intent of killing some of the most wonderful animals we have?
