i have been asked to compile a quiz for my pre-school, as a fundraiser.
I did one a couple of years ago and it went down very well.
I am really stuck now though. I don't see the point in asking questions that can be soon answered with the use of t'internet.
I used some questions in the first one, that they needed to find out rather than just google, but I can't think of anymore.
Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

ask people to identify the people or places in photos? Much harder to search our the location or identity of images than it is for words ont he itnernet
gah, excuse my spelling
Suduko?
I tend to use lots of music and pictures in quizzes. This slows people down. My latest one is disguise celebrity names as pictures and ask people to guess what they are.

yes music would be good, but this is a written quiz they buy, then take away and complete.
As jno says photos are good - as are those dingbats because you can't just google.

Also third party type questions you know which one of a pair of feuding sisters made her debut in a 1935 film about baseball.
Well then pictures might be ok, maybe cryptic clues that aren't straightforward to serach?
I can sympathise, but surely the purpose of the quiz is to raise money. If you make it too difficult, the chances are that fewer people will take part. As long as the entrants get pleasure from it, and the more the merrier, you'll have done a splendid job.
Anything but general knowledge is good, typing the answers into google gets boring
Perhaps the format that is used fo some quizzes by Billericay Lions
You pink a rheme, say the weather, and you then have to identify a singer and song with a weather connection from the given clue which is the song and artist with the letters the letters represented by * and only the vowels given For instance

Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves would be
*A**I** / O* / *U***I*E by *A**I*A/ A**/ **E/ *A*E*
What about picture rounds like Logos, Famous People, Landmarks, Cartoon Characters, Flags etc.
You can always ask people not to use the internet until near the closing date. I hope this slows most people down from asking them quickly, and there are quite a lot of people on this site who do tell them off if they ask too soon. (Hopefully nicely). Also, don't make them a download, as I understand that not many people return them if they're too difficult, whereas if we've already paid we tend to try to finish them. The Heage one is brilliant - pictures of logos, photos of famous people, characters in films and places in the world.
please dont make the quiz to hard ,i send for several for friends and myself ,but if to hard dont send for any follow on quiz ,as its just to keep mind ticking over and to complete, after allsome of us have old minds ,and no a levels or degrees, but enjoy doing them as pastimes .
I have compiled paper quizzes for many years & doing two a year raises about £1,200.

Don't make them too hard because that puts people off buying them. Get your prizes donated rather than shelling out money. If you want to advertise your quizzes on the internet sites, choose cash, or voucher prizes that can be exchanged anywhere in the country.

Choose a theme, compile your answers, and then work out your clues but make some cryptic. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
