Does anyone know of a recipe for Butter Pies like you can get in Lancashire? I believe they're now known as Potato and Onion Pies

due to the increased amount of potato added to reduce fat content, the shop nearby now calls them potato pies. and meat and potato are now potato and meat as they have to note the major content first! mad!

Thanks very much for the info Stellaqueen, I don't suppose you know the recipe?

Thanks hotchoc, there is a Morrisons (that used to be Safeway) near here, but they haven't got Butter pies, I think they're a regional thing. I live in Kent, but I grew up in Chorley, Lancashire. I only make rare visits there now and always "export" some pies when I do visit but I'd love to be able to make my own. However, no-one out there seems to have a recipe, so I suppose I'll either have to experiment, or contact a bakery in Lancashire and try to persuade them to let me have a recipe to cope with the withdrawal symptoms!
