delete it!
Just delete it, it is a 'phishing' email that is trying to get you to log into a fake account, they will then have all your login details to your real account and will clear you out.
delete.

the go onto your account (i presume you have an online account there) and change passwords do be sure. Dont use any links in the email!!
Delete it. Your bank wouldn't send you that but if you are concerned it might be true then call them using a number on a statement from the bank.
Do you bank with HSBC ?

Delete the e-mail and contact HSBC if you want your mind put at rest.

It'll be a scam, in any case.

Sorry should have said I don't bank with HSBC and don't bank on line with anyone
By the way, I get at least 10 of these a day, supposedly from different banks. They all get deleted even the ones (pretending to be) from the bank I actually use.

Thank you for your help

I get them all the time especially from banks I dont use, I may be old but not senile(yet)
housemouse - if,as they do, you send out a phishing mail to a million people, and 0.5% of them respond - that's a good result, and the law of averages says that the averages are better than that, which is why phishing still goes on.

I'm afraid we do love our officialdom, and if something 'official' tells us to do something, a knee-jerk reaction is to obey.

You'd hope that anyone bright enough to operate a computer and have a bank account would be immune to such nonsense - but of course, sadly, you would be wrong.
I wondered why there was no money in my HSBC account - this explains it. It must be because I don't bank with HSBC
For God`s sake ...delete!!!
Never open these emails from supposedly from a bank...more likely it will be from some naughty person wanting to cause chaos by pinching you identity..or worse contains a virus.

I get them all the time even ir I am not with that particular bank

Thank you all deleted and will delete anymore in the future
I get loads of these emails, allegedly from every bank under the sun. Just delete them as your bank will never email along these lines. Most of the spellings give the game away. If you hover your mouse over the email address and check "Properties" you'll see that the email address from which it originates is often a private address rather than a bank, which is a dead giveaway that it's a scam..
