Infamous Family

Is anyone in your family, or friends I suppose infamous for something they have done?

I have a cousin who was responsible for a train carriage being blown up with a controlled explosion a few years back. He left some college coursework on it (I don't know what it was) and they thought it was a bomb, so blew it up. We were on holiday in Tenerife at the time and couldn't believe it when we read it in the paper at breakfast.

Son of some friends who was about 14 at the time was a bit of an inventor and had been buying things off the internet which, if combined in the right way, could have made a bomb. First thing his parents knew was when an armed response unit raided the house in the early hours. Ooops.

I bet the neighbours got weeks worth of gossip over that one!

Just LAST night (yes truly) I was putting various family names into google for fun (??yes im sad that way! lol) and found out that my husband nephew (who we haven't seen for years) was wanted by his local police. Not infamous to AB in gen but amusing to us, (and not surprising given the history of that side of the family)

my dopey uncle years ago used to go shooting for birds rabbit ect.
He came home and proudly told my nan " mam ive caught you two lovely geese"
wrong !!! they were swans !! Thats the most crime related incident in our family.

doc - thinking about killing your husband/wife I can understand - but to plan to kill your own child?!

My family are boringly honest - but should my brother be surfing around AB today maybe he can think of something.

My aunt's attempt to murder her husband was kept within the family. (She was as mad as a hatter anyway. She met my uncle while they were both in-patients in a psychiatric hospital).

I don't have but Mr Tiggs' grandfather was involved witht he Krays.
