High blood pressure is linked with obesity and poor diet: high in fats, sugars and salt. High blood pressure is of more concern because of the overload on the heart and can cause kidney problems and ischaemic heart disease. Low blood pressure can be disabilitating but does not generally cause  problems to other parts of the body. When a person is ill or losing blood their blood pressure may fall which of cause would be something to then worry about.
