On Freemont Street there is a really cool light show that goes on every few hours and there is also an incredible illusionist named Criss Angel who does "demonstrations" on that street.  I think he's connected with the Aladdin Hotel so he sometimes also roams around there.

Best luxury hotel..Bellagio, do not miss free fountain show every fifteen minutes after dark. Good modest hotel Imperial Palace. Luxor is good, ask for Pyramid room. Stratosphere is good but a little isolated from main strip.

Best buffet at Sahara, Emperors buffet at the Imperial is second best, all you can eat for a fiver. 24hr pass on all buses five dollars(from driver) No 301 runs entire strip No 302 is Express limited stop, only two dollars per trip. 24 hour pass very good value.

Fashion show mall for shopping opposite Wynns .Walmarts on Tropicana Boulevard bus no 201 get off at McCloud Boulevard, or On Charleston Boulevard bus no 206.

Fantastic car museum at Imperial Palace, free passes given out on sidewalk outside hotel. Free circus shows at Circus Circus. Don't miss view from top of Stratosphere tower AT NIGHT about 4 to top. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is excellent. Free aerial acts at Tropicana several times a day. See the lions at MGM free. White Tigers and Lions at Mirage about 8.

Mama Mia at Mandalay was really excellent but cost about 50. Legends in Concert at Imperial Palace good especially Elvis.Cost about 25.

Still finding new things to see after seven visits.

doncaster, you don't say how long you are going for but a trip worth doing is Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam.  There are lots of little booths along the strip where you can book this tour.  Also Mount Charleston was good.  Most tours seem to take you at the end to Ethel M's chocolate factory and cactus garden.  Worth a look.  Go into any hotel for amazing shopping areas, especially Aladdin and Venetian where you swear the sky is moving...

We liked Peppermills Fireside Lounge, which is just down the Strip from the RIviera.  24hour cocktails beside a flaming pit of fire - what more could anyone want!!

Ceasar's Palace was cool - spent a whole day just wandering round, and had food at Planet Hollywood.  Next time I want to go back in the evening and have a drink in the Cleopatra's Barge lounge, which is really on a boat!

Also liked Luxor - didn't stay there, but we loved the Search for the Obelisk ride, and the Pyramid Cafe (think that's what it was called) was good for breakfast.  The re-creation of Tutankhamun's tomb was a bit pants though.

We were supposed to be going in September this year, but had to put it back a year, and I can't wait to get there!

We stayed at the Mandalay Bay which was next to the luxor. We usually had breakfast at the luxor but then we went to a different hotel each night to eat. Most hotels have some sort of entertainment at night. As c.w.b. says the Bellagio fountains are not to be missed. We would have like to see Celine Dionne but she was having a break when we went. Don't forget to have a flutter you never know.
