So the once mighty John Cleese thinks that British television is now so bad he cannot bear to watch it.

Yet he will appear in the latest AA home service campaign, and how cringing is that to see him hopping about in a sleeping bag?

He is quoted as saying: "he would only do embarrassing things on television if he was well paid and people were unlikely to find out about it" (surely that is the whole idea of a commercial, plenty of people need to find out about it)?.

Still he has got to recover some of the £12.5 million divorce settlement paid to his third wife.

ummmm

/// I don't understand the title. How has he fell? ///

/// He has sold off properties including a beach house, an office and 15 acre ranch in Montecito, California, a New York flat and a mews house in Holland Park, London.///

/// Cleese now lives with his girlfriend Jennifer Wade, a jeweller 32 years his junior, but remains bitter about the huge payout to his former spouse. ///

Says it all, don't you think?

"Says it all, don't you think? "

No, it says nothing.

i'd be bitter if i had to pay 12.5 million in a divorce settlement, and i'd do ad's for the hoff with puppies if it got me some cash

(no pride me :-)
And now for something completely different...........?
He's dating someone 32 years his junior. I wouldn't call that a mighty fall. Also, having to pay out that much money was really out of his control.

/// So circumstances dictate that he has had a change of heart/mind.///

/// Has that never happened to you? ///

Well of course it has, and everyone else on this planet, but the subject is John Cleese, not everyone else.

He's had his other settlements to pay out on too.

He has done ads in the US for golf balls....all rather stoopid. It's a shame to see such a great comedian plunge to such depths. Even young Tom Daly couldn't dive as deep as JC has.
But he's right about British TV, though. Isn't he?
he has said similar things about weston-super-mare, he definitely doesn't like anything british anymore.
After all he is Basil 'Faulty'
