The device appears to be simply an ordinary USB media stick which is preloaded with software to receive internet video streams. Those video streams are available with or without that software, with many free media players able to display them anyway.

Everything I wrote here about 'Satellite Direct' (which was also offering unnecessary software, but without the media stick) remains true for the product you're referring to:
