Some of you may remember from yesterday that I was worried about Boots, well he died this morning. When I got up he'd had a massive nose bleed and could hardly walk. I took him straight to the vet and my worst fears were realised. Vet said he was very very tired and no treatment would be worthwhile because of his age 17, Boots even lay down on the table and didn't move or make a sound. Bye bye my my little friend, we have buried him in the garden where he spent most of his time.

Steg. So sorry

Sorry to hear that steg.

At least nowadays nobody gives you the "it's only a cat/dog" lecture - most people (animals lovers or not) understand that the friendship between a furry friend and a human runs deep and is pretty unique.

Do boy cats get their 'bits' back at the door of heaven?
Oh no Wolf. There is strictly no sex in Heaven!
So sorry to read this sad news, puss. You too, steg. xxx
Puss, I'm so sorry to hear your news, after you posted last night - poor old Boots. Thinking so much of you and doc, and of steg too..... at least you know what happened to Seamus, steg, he didn't just vanish. They'll both be watching down on you now, and purring.
So sorry to hear your sad news puss and doc. It is heart breaking when we lose a furry loved one.
For those who are not familiar with it....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

oh i am so sorry to read this sending you both a big hug xx
I'm the same as you puss, can't quite get through it yet. When or if you feel ready, I will pass on the number of the Blackpool Rescue to you. I am so glad I contacted them as soon as Tom went, it did make all the difference.

Sorry about your loss Pussnboots.

I haven't heard of Rainbow Bridge before Pasta. It's very touching. I thought of my friends who must be playing there now and it's warming to think they will run across the grass to greet me one day. Thank you for that.
