Hi Dotty what do you know about tracing divorces?
All I have is this person's first marriage in 1931 and her second marriage in 1940. On the second marriage certificate she is referred to as being 'The divorced wife of'......

It did used to to a very complicated area of research but in the past 10 years the National Archive and the internet has brought together all the info available, in the time you are looking for you will find some info but not online necessarily.

Dotty you are as usual a star...........I've found the divorce in 1935!

I've spoken to a lovely young man at Kew, submitted an order form, and they are going to let me know how much it will cost.
It won;t be expensive as they are not out to make money, just recover some of the immense cost laid out in the concerving and storing, never mid the indexing and cataloguing!
