Laptop CD drive

Am trying to put few new albums on I'tunes library but usually when the cd will automatically play but it is doing nothing? any ideas whats wrong?

Did you have the lower filter listed in the right pane?

and following that, do you have a upper filters?

If you don't then my guess was wrong and it's not this causing your problem, but as I said it was a possible and looking won't hurt.

(BTW, I hate to ask this.... you have tried simply restarting the computer before posting this?)

I deleted lower filter but then didnt have any upper filter. let me just go off and restart :-)

well I have now shut down and restarted and got another drive in computer now which says My IP (D:) but thats now bare share. I think thats whats mucked it up

This is getting stranger!

Click the tools menu in any explorer window and select disconnect network drive (press alt if the tools menu doesn't show) and then select D and click OK

sorry you mean just a blank internet screen? Yep got tools up then couldnt find disconnect network drive

found disconnect now but nothing in it

OK, have a look in device manager....

click on the start icon, and in the run/search box type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

in the device manager do you have a DVD/CD drive entry and what's listed under it (and especially mention if it has a red x or a yellow exclamation mark)

If there is anything listed then double click on it and what does it say under device status?

in dvd/cd rom drive it has a file called HUAWEI mass storage USB device no crosses and says device working

it also mentions that HUAWEI thing under disk drives

OK, that's that's damm virtual CD drive again!

What make and model is the laptop? as I'm going for checking in the BIOS next and how to get there is different for all makes.

when I now go into i-tunes it says -

The registry settings used by the i-tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs is missing . This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software, please install I-Tunes. I have now reinstalled I-Tunes but somehow still have all my songs and message still coming up
