I live in a total non smoking house. Periodically I get a strong smell of smoke in my nostrils. I have googled and found it can be a symptom of a sinus problem. Sure enough sterimar sinus wash spray (natural saline) clears it temporarily but it always comes back. Any comments, suggestions welcome. And no it's not a smoking ghost!

The big question is......................are my sinuses infected or not?

To answer that question, you need X-Rays of your sinuses.

Perfectly safe woofgang.
I don't want to appear facetious, but could there be something smouldering away somewhere?
Which sort of 'smoke' smell is it? Tobacco, wood etc?
The last time I had a smokey smell lingering it turned out to be Merlin, my long haired lady cat, setting fire to her ar$e under my halogen lamp.

thanks sqad...no, nothing smouldering anywhere, I checked, anyway this has been happening on and off for a month or so and in different locations. The smell is what a non smoker (me) smells when a smoker first lights a ciggie with a match.
hi... it could be someone who died , some ppl get strong smells of perfume from ppl who they were close too who had died and smoke and other strong smells that associated with that person... you never know!!

It's your new neighbours smoking outside their back door.
