I am sorry to say this to you Whitebears but if you need to take the Gaviscon every day something is not right

thanks viva - i wondered that because the liquid gaviscon tastes very similar to bi carb, which is why i only take them tablets as i dont like the taste of the liquid, :P

folly sorry i may have exaggerated there not every day, probs 2 - 3 times a week but it depends what i eat, i think i may have over ate or rushed my tea tonight :( my fault really, i dont normally rush my food. :(
If its happening every day then like Folly says something may not be right. You may be eating something that triggers it off. I used to suffer with extreme stomach pains a fews years ago due to a stomach ulcer. Every time I had a curry or fish and chips or anything really heavy it would trigger it off. I think you need to see your GP about it Whitebears.

I know you said you don't like milk but is that all milk related drinks like milkshake or hot chocolate? If you don't mind hot choc or a malt drink try that instead of plain milk. I realised quite late that milk can take the edge off the pain even though I can't stand milk on its own.

Hope you feel better soon x
Bi-carb in lemonade is not unpleasant because the sugar in lemonade takes the edge off the bicarbonate.

Hopefully I am being of some assistance but if you are getting regular stomach problems then you should see your Doctor and have things checked-out. As follyfancier has said "something is not right". A point on which tiggerblue agrees; as I do.

Another nice gentle and soothing remedy is Gripe water, available in the nursery section at all supermarkets.

I used to suffer from heartburn due to stress and excesses of rich rood.

Best thing I found was to drink pure orange juice, used to work a treat with my stomach acid. I tried pineapple juice once though, was more harm than good, like drinking battery acid.
