Nearest hotel to Manchester Airport

Can anyone tell me the nearest hotel to Manchester Airport, we are flying to Tenerife.

right in the airport - Radisson SAS Ok but an airport hotel - rooms are clean and bathrooms ok) - there are a couple within striking distance (1.5 miles) but all fairly moribund - Etrop Grange perhaps the best if money no object.....

The jolliest hotels (which is what really matters) are the Gatwick Hilton, and the Sofitel.

It's always useful to know these things.

And if you want good value, the Premier Inn is best ... you get a double room, breakfast, and you can leave your car in their car park for a week, all for £100. It costs almost that just for a week's parking!

that is worth noting.....

there's an old yarn about a guy walking into the Esher NatWest and stating that he had no cash but would leave his car as security....Credit check and they gave him £200.

The car sat out in the bank park for 6 weeks and eventually the owner walks back in and asks to see the manager.

"Here's the £200 back and thank you."

"Sir, there are interest and aacount charges.....totalling £40."

"No problem" and he shells out the forty quid.

"All rather odd Sir leaving your car like this for 6 weeks......"

"Where in the Heathrow area, can I park my car for 6 weeks for forty quid........?"
