In a recipe where the recommended quantity is one teaspoonful, is this taken to be a heaped or a level spoonful? Thanks.

it would probably say heaped if it was ,so level
....unless it's a liquid, then it's heaped!
i'd say somewhere between the two - not completely levelled off with a knife, and not a huge heaped one.
A teaspoon is 5ml derry.
If it's liquid, then obviously level. If dry ingredients, the recipe should state level or heaped.

If the recipe didn't specify heaped, then it's level.
