WE BOUGHT THIS CAR RECENTLY.ON ACCELLERATION SHIFTING TO 2ND GEAR THE VEHICLE JERKS AND FEELS LIKE IT IS BRAKING BEFORE TAKING THE GEAR AND CONTINUES. IT DOES NOT DO IT WHEN SELECTING THE FREEZE (COLD WEATHER) MODE. IT ALSO DEVELOPED A SERIOUS OIL LEAK FROM THE SIDE SHAFT SEAL/S. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I'd say the Automatic Transmission has had previous problems. Take it to an Auto Transmission specialists for a look. Wear on bearings inside differential may be causing the output shaft seal wear. Again, a specialist would tell you.

Check the level of the transmission fluid and top up if necessary, if that curers it get the seals renewed.
