Why is it that when somebody does something sadistic they feel that the fact that they were drunk is some sort of explanation for their actions?

I can't think of anything else to say.

RSPCA Inspector Jim Farr said after the case: "I am pleased with the sentence. It sends out a clear message that anyone who carries out acts of cruelty will face justice.

Some people are easily pleased.

Bring back flogging.
Well, the latest fad phrase, is "it was the alcohol talking."
BS I say, the person did the deed he faces the consequences.
i agree with nohorn
Havnt looked at the link as I know it will upset me, but I can guess what it is about. Problem with prison these days is that some prisons, particularly open ones for low rate offenders, are like holiday camps. If someone breaks the law or commits an act of cruelty they should be made to suffer otherwise there is no deterrant.
like Jules77 I haven't looked at the link cos I've seen enough cruelty (over 40 years in animal welfare both here and Africa and believe me I've seen some things especially in Africa) but until the punishment fits the crime and these lowlifes are publicly named and shamed it will just continue. All we can do is 'our bit' - unfortunately the rescue societies are often bogged down with red tape although it's debateable whether or not they would actually stick their necks out even if they could - many seem more interested in fund raising.
you have to go to court on a regular basis to know that any kind of imprisonment is a bloody good result.
There will be many people who think what he did was no big deal because it was 'only a cat', yet these same people would call for the sicko to be strung up if he had happened to microwave, tumbler dry and freeze a dog.
I hope the poor puss has no long term health problems from her horrible ordeal.
In vino veritas. Drink is never an excuse. Someone who would be cruel to a defenceless animal is a piece of dirt, drunk or sober.
I read this today on another site, can't describe what i'd like to do to him.Nasty scum.
B*stard. What I find so sickening is that he thought it hilarious enough to film this poor beast being tortured, then to send it on. Thank God they got him - jeez, it makes my blood boil. Not just one "witty" thing to do to the cat, but four consecutive things, each of which could have killed it. Once again - b*stard.
There's no way on earth I'm going to click on that link. I just hope the perpetrator gets what's owing to him.

I don't know if this link will cheer you up, but my mother and I were watching it earlier and both concurred that animals are so much nicer than humans. x

I'm well and truly pizzzzzzzed now, but I love my dogs.horses, chics etc Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastards
What a pity we can't make the punishment fit the crime and do the same to him as he did to the cat. Don't think he would like it in the microwave. I understand it can do all sorts of things to bodies.
NB
I clicked and I am soooooooo angry. I know some on here will say "here we go again, it's only a cat" - well "here we go again, drunken tw*ts". Remorse? I'll give him remorse.
What's really making me angry aside from this despicable act,is the fact this man is an ADULT...not some snotty, mouthy teenager. To blame it on drink is a farce-it just shows what a low life he is,as drink can bring out a persons true character-I use that term loosely in respect to this man.

The age of the guy was the thing that struck me as strange - he was 44 and can't blame his actions on the stupidity of youth.

I have often felt like strangling one of my cats - but this guy microwaved, tumble dried then froze this poor cat. The fact that the poor thing survived is amazing. I hope that little Roxy has a long pussy cat life and that the sorry excuse for a human rots in hell.

I still want to throttle one of my cats - he is racing around the flat at nearly two in the morning, jumping on and off the furniture and generally making a lot of noise.
