Is hosta plants harmful to pets if they eat the leaves?

Not that i'm aware of. Slugs love 'em and they seem to do ok !!!
only if the hosta owner gets really upset!! more seriously, I guess a puppy or kitten could choke as the leaves are quite fibrous...can't imagine it actually doing them much good

Thanks for the answers! A friends puppy has been bad and looks like he has eaten some of the leaves but I didn't think they would be poisonous.

It's probably not connected. Cheers.

could be just the excess of fibre. puppies systems arer easy to upset like that
