Do you use soured cream, brandy, dijon mustard... those sorts of ingredients?
And paprika I think...
I was wondering about the old paprika.
I just mailed Dris about the live mussels I did the other day with Paprika and Saffron. They were delicious. Really really nice.
I made a fish pie (with potato and sweetpotato topping) last time I was down south. I put a touch of saffon in the mix, but I think I will just use fresh dill next time. The saffron just made it a strange yellowy colour.
14oz Beef/Steak cut into thin strips.
1 medium chopped onion.
1 clove crushed garlic.
4 oz Sliced mushrooms.
1/4 pint chicken stock.
1 and a half teaspoons of Paprika
1 teaspoon of cornflour (splash of water to make a paste)
1 tablespoon of Brandy.
7fl oz. creme fraiche

Sweat onions, garlic and mushrooms in a ,little Olive oil.
Remove from pan add a little more oil and then fry beef in batches until brown. Return veg to pan.
Add the 'wet' ingredients and cook over a low heat, stirring to ensure nothing sticks to side of pan.
Finally, add Creme Fraiche and stir thoroughly for 1 minute until the sauce thickens.

Serve with boiled rice or tagliatelle and garnish with fresh Dill.
Thanks, Jth... I'll give that a try.

I've still yet to make my Lamb Tagine.
Lamb Tagine...........another favourite of the 'hat-household' :o)
Roast Chicken and Pork, stuffing, spuds boiled and roasted, sprouts, peas and carrots. Just waiting for my lot to get in from the Villa Match and all will be served with Spotted Dick for pudding. Trouble is by the time i have finished cooking i never fancy eating it.
Cheers Jack. I will that one a bash....

NoM..it does do that but it also has a really nice flavour. Bit expensive though...
Honky, that's what happens to a lot of people. Even if I don't feel hungry, I always make an effort to eat a few veggies and drink loads of wine :-) Your dinner sounds grand, btw.

Jack, this is the recipe I am going to use. I can probably source everything apart from Argan oil.

Ummmm... it's great in Paella, but I think I will omit it from my fish pie recipe in future.
Honky...I'm the same so I invested in a hostess trolley. I slightly under cook the veg so they don't spoil. I don't put the meat in it or roast potatoes. It's great...
It's pot roast chicken for me-I do a huge one in the slow cooker-and garlic mash...I could just eat the mash and be a happy bunny.
Beef Stroganoff is very like Beef Goulash...except one has tomato purée.

Good to see you back as yourself,NoM.....has dris been re-instated also? Must have been a techie glitch. x
Just finished, had roast beef, mash potato, yorkshire puds, cauliflower and gravy.
First time having cauliflower and it was gorgeous!
Pasta, it would seem Dris is still suspended. I'm guessing I was suspended by a mod who has since realised that I meant no malice in anything I said. Still, that's just a guess. I really can't see why Dris was suspended.

Hi Suezy, I'm not a lover of cauliflower ordinarily, but I used to go to a lovely Italian restaurant in Alcester where they did a gorgeous cauliflower tempura.
I do a cauliflower,tomato and onion curry...bliss!

I have not even seen Dris on today...so it seems odd.
It's a lovely rib of beef in the Horseshoes household tonight, accompanied by cauliflower, carrots, roasties, mash and yorkshire pudding.Mmmmmmmm
NoMercy, it was lovely, topped with gravy :)
