You've Got To Laugh Haven't You?
News1 min ago
I've just purchased a vespa GS150VS5 for 700, it is all there but a bit tatty. Has anybody any idea how much it would cost (ball park figure) to have it totally stripped, frame straightened, re-sprayed, engine rebuilt and all put back together again at a scooter dealer.
A friend normally does all my work (on my 1980 P125X) but he is too busy and I do not want to take it to a dealer if it will cost the earth.
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't even entertain taking it to a restoration garage the price will be scandalous! Just for example I am in the middle of restoring a 1958 vespa 125 and the running total so far excluding the cost of the scoot is 1900, and that with me doing all the work myself except the paintwork. And its not even finished!!!!
I would think that it would be in the region of about 3000 to get it complete and ready to go on the road. so not particulary cheap. I know this is prob not the answer you were looking for but unfortunatley its true.
Why not have a go yourself?
difficult to say its really up to you as to how much you spend, one of theis years scootering mags had a feture on Gs, the other thing to do is make contact with your local scooter club ( if you havent joined already) and talk to them. They will know local dealers sprayers ect, most local clubs are also listed in scotering Good Luck & enjoy
