Reason I ask .Ive just came back from an early morning walk .The area I walk through would be quite open .I walk down a pathway and sitting there was a young or smallish fox .It ran off so I just ignored it .Next I was able to see it following me stopping when i stooped the again following me .When I reached the road again it disappeared .Was I in danger or was he just a nosey git. Any ideas

Urban foxes have become accustomed to being close to people. Not good for them or the people. They're wild animals and if cornered would bite to try and get away. I don't think this one you mentioned was following you with a view to have you for dinner.
Probably hoping you would have some food for it. you were not in any danger.
just enjoy the chance to have a close view of such a lovely creature...
