I was at Cheltenham races on Saturday and saw a huge mobile office of an Equine Insurance Company called Ken Gamble.
My first job after leaving school was as a secretary at a builders merchants called Murray and Bright, I worked for Mr Murray. He was a miserable sod.
I knew of a high church Anglican priest whose surname was Christmas. Naturally he was addressed as Father Christmas.

There used to be a family butchers' shop on Bromsgrove High Street (and may still be for all I know) called Badham and Grizzle.

We have a shop near me called Gay's Creamery,
the family name being Gay.

Graham Norton actually found a carrier bag with this name on it, he really had a laugh, being brought up in the town I actually never made the connection lol.

We also have an estate agent named Force & Son

Wasn't there the story of an unfortunate Irishman, who lived the first 19 years of his life under constant teasing about his name (Seamus Sh??house) ... Driven to desperate measures, he moved away to London and in due course applied to change his name in his new city. The clerk helped him to fill in the form. "1) Current Name?: Seamus Sh??house" ....2) Proposed new name? ... Seamus thought for a while then answered, "I was thinking of John Sh??house". Boom, as they say, boom!
Perhaps not in the same vein but when I was a teenager I went out with a lad who's surname was 'Gotobed' he wanted to change it when he was 21.
I wonder if he ever did?

Jemisa - did he wear a quilted jacket and was as white as a sheet - and when wrestling his girlfriend would say "Eiderdown - but she wouldn't submit"? Is that the Mr Gotobed?
The guy who services my boiler every year has given me a receipt for his work where I found he is 'Michael Hunt'. He insists never to be called Mike after somebody called for him like that.

"Has anybody seen Mike Hunt?"

And that is 100% kosher
