my mouse of my laptop mousepad has frozen

the only way i can operate cursor is to plug one in
can anyone suggest anyway to unfreeze it

it happens now and again on one of my sons lappy. I shut the darned thing down, restart and then keep my fingers crossed. I know that's not the solution you were looking for but hope it helps.

(oh and if swearing at it doesn't do the trick, try the sweet-talking route)

i tried that alba not luck !!!!
Make sure you've not got a little button (normally just above the touchpad) that disables it.

It was a lucky guess... It's fairly rare for laptops to have the disable touchpad button (the HP/compaq CQ range and some of the HP/compaq NC9*** are the only ones with one I can think of this time of the morning)

does this button unfreeze other problems then?
No, it should just turn the touchpad on or off.

Some people like to be able to disable it when typing so stop them from accidentally brushing the touchpad and moving the cursor mid-sentence.
