Does anyone know a free site where beginners can design their own websites (WYSIWYG, not HTML) where the templates are stylish and modern? The ones I've seen are well cheesy. Cheers.

Well, this is not really what you want, but since no one else has replied, let me mention www.angelfire.com from Lycos. It is a mixture of WYSIWYG and HTML , with the form parts not cheesy but simply simple. In places, it can get clunky (small panes), but I'm generally satisfied (but then I know a bit of HTML).

There's plenty of WYSIWYG editors on the web. Here's a few:

http://www.freewebs.com Has a very easy to use editor (sign up for the basic account) that I've seen children use with ease.

www.piczo.com Is great for photo albums, but it's very easy to use and you can make anything with it (warning: it does put up alot of ons on your site though)

www.geocities.com has a cool editor that's well easy to use.

All of these sites host your site as well as help you build it.
