Carrying a strimmer on a trailer

Can anyone recommend a device or a means of carrying a mechanical strimmer on a trailer. The trailer is longer than the strimmer and has one ladder rack. It bounces quite a bit and I am afraid of causing damage to the strimmer when in transit. Thank you.

Hi derrynoose, what an intriguing question. I assume you are towing a trailer behind a motor vehicle. If so I suggest you stay on the road, cross country does tend to be a bit bumpy. My experience with a landrover says you wont do that much damage however if you are that concerned why not just tie the swine down, a ladder rack is as good as anything for that purpose. Good orienteering!
Mmmm, never really thought about it! We work a maintenance round from a Cabstar open truck and tend to make sure the old gal is wedged in somehow to stop her rolling about. By the way, our local Council ensures we dont have to go off road to find some rough terrain!

Word of warning to anyone working as we do or from an open trailer, our year old Sthl hedge trimmer has recently been lifted from our wagon (the second one in 4 years!). 'Eyes' are about all the time so take care of your gear - oh how I would like to give the culprits a bit of personal pruning - another tick on the old CV!
Use motorcycle speed straps .. The elastic thingies you tie things to bikes with.
