I saw Gene Vincent quite a few times in the 50,s could even have seen your brother I guess
Go to the 'All posters' site' perhaps find a poster or photo of the time and have it framed, he'll love it, This is what we did for my H 70th, of his hero Ella Fitzgerald, he has it proudly displayed on the wall in his den.

How good would that be?... If you'd seen him then yould've seen me coz I was his biggest fan! x
Hi masma - welcome to Chatterbank! You will like it here - some of us are quite nuts. My mate 4getmenot is only jealous because I am the real Mrs Dolittle! Just read through this and wondered if a stage show might suit. No idea where your brother lives but have a look on this site for further information. It would be too much to expect a tour date near you in time for his birthday I know.

I have seen this show in Bournemouth 3 times now and it is a fantastic evening out - loved all of their music and came out of the theatre really happy. A slick performance which keeps a really fast pace. All the audience enjoyed it too. btw - thank you for your kind wishes yesterday. Hope CoCo is keeping you all under control ♥
"private club" ...cobblers! You are very welcome here as far as I'm concerned.
Blimey a prezzie for a 70 YO Ted ...hmm, a nice boot-lace tie thingy ? bought from a trip up to Carnaby St. ...a nice new pair of purple brothel-creepers?
Might be an opportunity to get him something totally new - a basic digital camera maybe.
He could have a great time with that - no film to muck about with and he must know someone who has a computer ( eg you :-) where he can view his pics.
I recommend cooking a special meal of duck. He can eat most of it but make sure you retain the @*se for his hairstyle.
Welcome masma

Theres a nice champagne on offer in Morrisons at the moment. Half price !!
I bought some last month when it was on offer for my OH 60th and I said if it came on offer again I would get a bottle or two in. It was really nice and Im not really a champagne lover

It was called, L.......Duprince Classic Brut.... £13.99 or something like that. I would definitely recommend it as an extra pressie
what is wrong with my idea of 70 different prezzies? It would keep him occupied
a jukebox.

Thank you for all you idea's, he's one of those people who are lucky enough to be able to buy something if he wants it i.e. phone, camera etc. I'm mulling over what I could put in 70 little parcels.. He's such a fussy old b****r that's why it's so hard to think what to get him.
Thanks again for your welcomes and Ttfn... Coco really is keeping us in order !
I bought my friend (aged 75) a casual jacket from Marks and Spencers.
He was very pleased with it now that the cold weather is here
