Can somebody please explain to me why idiots feel the need to post stupid and inappropriate comments and photos on the sites people put on Facebook as a memorial for their deceased friends or family?

I have just been reading the online local newspaper for my area (Blackpool Gazette) and there is a story there about two local young women who recently died whose memorial sites have been defaced in this way. One of the FB sites has a photo supposedly of one of the dead women (Jane Clough, who was stabbed to death by an ex) lying alongside a pool of blood and a large knife. There is another hideous photo of a man lying face down with his neck sliced and his head caved in.

What amusement or satisfaction do these twisted individuals get by upsetting people with these actions?

Some people just sicken and baffle me!

I think it's comforting to a degree.
used to be if someone died you sent a card or spoke to the family, and went to the funeral. I'm not sure why anyone needs an RIP page or would place even a polite comment on it - it's like having a neon sign outside your house saying 'I'm sorry Mary Smith died!' But if you do make it into a public event in this way, you have to deal with the fact that some members of the public are creeps. I hope my own death will be kept private (in fact I doubt that members even of my immediate family will notice anyway).
When my Dad died I just felt I needed to talk about him all the time. I presume the RIP sites are peoples way of doing that.
the ghouls are minority though...for every 1 sick joker, there are plenty who leave a genuine heartfelt message.
When my Dad died, anyone who 'needed' to know, wherever in the World they were, knew within 3 days at the latest via phonecall, letter or email.

A lot of these RIP sites are started by youngsters though.

I always acknowledge my Dad on his certain days...just like many people wish their Dad's happy fathers day etc...
It seems to me that many people treat life like a soap opera, attaching drama and emotion to real people who have no connection with them at all.
Like this hugely offensive woman.

It is not unusual these days for people to be 'in a state' and 'unable to cope' because a friend of a friend's mother's brother's next door neighbour has died. Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the gist. Stop stealing other peoples grief, please!

Surely though, the best place for posting condolences is on that person's, or their families FB page. There is no need to start a new group for it.
At least then you could be assured that only people who actually knew the deceased in life would be posting stuff, and there would be no horrible photos etc.

joko.... I also spotted that the photo was staged, which is why I said it the way I did in my op.
a similar thing happened on here when whiffey died

a few ABers seemed to think it appropriate to expect the bereaved daughter to call them, and to call her, and demand answers etc and she seemed very upset that people seemed to try to 'take over' the tragedy and make it all about them...
