just come back from a trip to aldi. spent £20.83 and got a huge trolley load of fruit and veg. the only other things i bought were 2 large fresh milk, 28 items in all. i really don't know how they manage to sell such good quality fruit and veg at such cheap prices. i'm always amazed at how little the bill comes to when i go there but today i am exceptionally amazed!! and exceptionally pleased :)

Add a bit of coconut milk in your Thai curry, if you don't already add do when you make it. The coconut milk gives it a delicious and unique flavour,
You can sign up to Aldi email - they send you an email about the special offers starting each Thur and Sun, then you can get there early to beat the rush!!

china, i bought a non-stick frying pan with lid last year sometime when it was on special offer, cost about £7 i think. it's huge and good quality and i'd been looking round for ages for one so knew the prices of them to compare. i never use my wok now, this is perfect for the two of us. it's well worth giving their non-ffod stuff a go, none of it would break the bank if it does turn out to be not so good, but in my experience most is really good.
Society - I'm a lousy cook but even I don't understand how you could make a thai curry WITHOUT coconut milk, I'm not that bad!... ;oP

etjamdron - Sounds like a good idea. There's an aldis near where the man hostage lives, I might have a look at their wok/saucepans then.
SHopping in Aldi is much quicker. Even Mr thug can shop there because a tin of beans is just that, 1 tin of beans rather than 20 variations. Their fruit and veg is not subjected to prolonged cold storage either which can make it tasteless. It is my nearest shop and the only other supermarkets are Morrisons (currently in a tent as the shop burned down before Christmas), Co-op (very expensive) and Somerfield (also very expensive) and I can always park at Aldi.
