What the hell ? Sick freak ! You have mental problems and we all feel very sorry for you, keep taking the lithium honey.
So.....moving on from the sicko......
I used to like the double skipping rope thingy, where you persuaded some poor dinner ladies to turn the things for the whole lunch hour!
Question Author
yup hippie - never had the rythm for that myself. I wonder how he manages to do all that stuff on his own in his sad wee bedsit.
Ha yes, we also persuaded the dinner ladies to hold the ends of the ropes lol...bless them, they had their uses.....awwwww
Marbles.

Cigarette card flicking.
We called the French skipping/elastics thing Chinese Ropes, and whip and top was whip and peery. We also had peever - it's funny how we all played the same things but had different names for them
We played Pick up Sticks (coloured pointed sticks), jacks, and paper games like Hangman and Consequences - and we played cards a lot.
Question Author
yes canary - we played marbles a lot, and cards - computer games have replaced a lot of that, but they are not as sociable as getting the cards out and playing 5 card brag or whatever. Cribbage is another that we played on rainy days - I also remember playing some game with a couple of dice with chinese symbols on them but not sure what that was or how you played.

Might get the Mouse trap out tomorrow :o)
I remember 'playing' with my stamps, each tucked into a page of a book.

I have just gone looking for these on the net and found nothing. I wonder what else they were called. I remember a little, fat cherub on a cloud.........
Question Author
we called them Scraps wolf - you kept them in a book and went through other peoples books and pushed up all the ones you wanted to swap and they did the same with your book and then the negotiations began! Kids do the same with their Pokemon cards now.

This take you back?

annie - I actually woke up this morning with the word "Scraps" in my head.

Yeah - when you think about it we were pretty easily entertained back them.
Question Author
sometimes they still are, my 10 and 9 year old have had a fab morning playing with Playdoh - I'm having a clear out and found it in the cupboard together with some bob the builder playdoh tools! They're off swimming and the Playdoh is about to make it's way over to the little ones across the street while they are out - together with a stack of colouring books.
