Urrgghh, we have to pick out 2 songs for a funeral next week. I need to be able to get them easily on CD in normal high street shops. Would like something not too depressing, perhaps classical (am not one of those people who likes pop songs at funerals) Bearing in mind we wont actually hear much of them because it'll be a short service, and there will be no singing as there will only be 3 of us there. Does anyone have some suggestions of favourite/nice pieces?

Ode to Joy is the most amazing piece of music - think it's by Beethoven - spect you've had some great suggestions - aim to read them later.
Sorry bednobs - did not see your latest post here (it is my age, forgive me)

Albinoni's Adagio is very beautiful (although maybe too depressing). Ignore the video intro.

thanks for all your suggestions. The funeral directors are organising an organist at no cost, so that's good :)
