DOES CAR INSURANCE COVER A TREE FALLING ON YOUR CAR

If a tree falls over due to the weather does my car insurance cover it or is it the owner of the land where the tree was rooted ?

I would say your car insurance, if you have comprehensive cover.

It would be up to the insurance company to pursue others for their liability, if they think it worthwhile.

You want an insurance payout then?

Check your small print, in case they call it an act of God which is outside their liability.
Some insurance company's might try and get away without paying up saying, its an act of God!
Be careful some insurance companies might interpret it as an act of god,which may render it unliable.
If the tree is known to be unsafe then the owner of the tree/land is probably legally liable.

However, if you know you are parking in an area where a tree will inevitably damage your car your insurers would be within their rights not to pay you (and if they read this post theywould have the proof LOL). All insurers expect you to act with the care you would take if you did not have insurance in place.
