OK so it's a bit of a random question but that's what AB is about.......I can remember listening to my grandad's 'Albert' watch. He died before I was 3.

Not my first real memory, but my first vivid memory was at the 8 of age - in assemby, wondering why the headmaster kept smiling at me and henceforth treated me & my brother with a degree of favouritism.

I found out later it was because he was having an affair with my mother.....

Fascinating stuff....thanks for sharing. I agree that it is often impossible to differentiate between memory and stories other people tell - hence I suppose why witnesses to crimes need to be interviewed in isolation? But at the same time, some of the 'snapshots' described are so vivid and from a personal / non-verbal viewpoint that they must surely be real memories.
