I have got a virgin box but I disconnected it ages ago. But lately the signal through the aerial has been awful so i want to set it up again. I'm alright with the cables but I can't get my head round the recording side of it. If I want to watch a different chanel to what I'm recording how do I do that? Do I need an aerial into the telly as well. I can't remember how it worked before. Would I be better to call them to send someone out? And will they charge if I do?

Virgin box, or Virgin+ box?
Question Author
Ordinary virgin box
You cannot record a programme on another channel with Virgin.
You have to have a V + box.
You can do it however,if you keep your terrestrial aerial.

Thakns Grandad. So i need to set up my recorder to the virgin box and still keep my aerial plugged in to my telly as it is now? Sounds easy enough. I'm going to have a go.
You can record from Virgin on to your dvd or video recorder.

You need to set the recording manually, with the correct channel (either EXT1, EXT2 etc), and have the virgin box set to the programme you want to record and make sure you leave the virgin box switched on to that channel throughout the recording.
