Virgin box time display

I've just returned to Virgin cable (basic V HD box) after a gap of a few years, and there is a minor thing that I miss: with the old boxes there was a setting to change the display to show the time instead of channel number, that number only being displayed when changing channels. Displaying the time would mean that I don't need to have a separate clock plugged into the mains.

Putting the new set-top box into stand-by does display the time so the capability is still there but there seems to be no setting for changing the default box display and I haven't found any help (box or online) that suggests it is available.

Is it possible? (I thought I'd try AB first before wasting money being kept on hold when phoning the helpline)
