Best bet will be to contact your local ambulance service and ask them for careers info.
i dont know your circumstances but leaving uni could be a big mistake, i didn;t go to uni after my a levels and ive regretted it all my life. why dont you change courses and go for physiotherapy or osteopathy or perhaps chiropody.

being a paramamedic may seem exciting but the shift work will soon wear you down.

my missus is a nurse and she says you have to join the amblance service first and then apply to be a paramedic when the vacancies arise.
You need to have a degree now to become one, either a Paramedic Science Foundation Degree or Paramedic Science BSc. They give you all the experience you need and during the Foundation Degree you work and earn money on 999 calls. Try uni's like St Georges London, Staffordshire, Greenwich and Surrey. Hope that helps!
