2 years ago, I drove my car into the car in front of me when i hit black ice. My car was deemed a category D write off so I decided to have the car repaired, as I have contacts at a reputable garage. Car was fixed, re Mot-d, all good. I've felt bound to stay with the insurance company that were covering at the time of the accident 9Esure) as I didn't think anyone else would be prepared to insure it. However, my latest renewal quote from Esure is ridiculous and I'd really like to look elsewhere. Does anyone know which other companies might be prepared to to insure a category D write-off? The damage was pretty much all cosmetic (bonnet, bumper, headlights etc) and the car is fully repaired and running as good as ever. Esure class my repairs as a "modification" (in fact, they even charged me more because they class the repairs as an enhancement! For Funks Sake!). I'd really like to get alternative quotes.
