A most enjoyable puzzle.
If 16d begins with F, I can't see what fits at 15a ?RFATE. Kayakamina - I still haven't seen the "giveaway" title.
15a ergate - the down clue is gig lamps
Title anablep means 4 eyed
Four of the missing words have 4 "i"s in them and the other 4 are definitons of 4 eyed eg specs, goggles etc
forgot to say erg (sand dune) ate (swallowed0
Thanks Roslyn, I got the four eyes iiii . Have extinguished foglamps. I should have googled anableps - I thought it was a made-up word
