Best way to get rid of old toys?

We are moving house in the nr future and ahead of that date I want to empty our loft of all the clutter which mostly consists of old toys.

My kids are 17 and 21 now and the majority of the stuff is action figure based from the mid to late 90's eg figures, cars, trucks, playhouses etc.

Aside from doing a car boot sale I could just give the whole lot to charity as I'm not too fussed about the money for them but has anyone any recommendations or other ideas?

Thanks.

do you have a local surestart centre or playschool that could take them?
Giving to charity is all very admirable, but if any of the toys do have collector value then you run the risk of the charity being ripped off, as they don't always have the knowledge to spot any rarities. You take the same risk at a car boot sale, of course, but dealers are fairly easy to spot. We did once sell a whole box of MacDonalds toys to a collector/dealer at a car boot sale, but he was upfront about what he did and offered a price that we were more than happy with.

If you think you have anything of value, then check out with a local auctioneer first. Valuations are usually free.
Have a look on eBay, see if anyone is selling similar. You can sell for your own chosen charities on eBay these days, and if they are collectible then you will get an international audience.
Put it in a van, and drive it to Liverpool.

It will be gone by tea time.
Save them for grandchildren, our 2 love to play with Mummy's old Fisher Price and it's far better quality than the current stuff. Ebay charge a fortune for some of it, it's classed as vintage, it's so old.
jj i have relatives in liverpool, you are a buggar lol,but i love ya...
My children are similar ages and i've put loads of their old things on ebay- you'd be surprised at what people will buy! If you put on 'buyer collects' you wont have to bother with postage!
jj - thats a bit 'cheeky' I live near L'pool!!
