wolf, has your diabetic nurse mentioned an injection to you called victoza?
it helps with weight loss and blood sugar levels..

I think that it is like high blood pressure - invisible and still killing you.

My mum died at 58 with emphysema due to smoking, my dad had a smoking related heart attack.

I worry about my asthmatic cat more than I worry about my health.

Wolf...it will be harder for you.....but not impossible..speak to your diabetic nurse....and ask for referral to a specialist dietitian then you can always come and post on here for support when feeling down makes you want to comfort eat... Been there ...done that so often I've got some very big t shirts... I've had to stop my anti depressants because I put on so much weight having to use exercise and meditation instead... but that's on medical advice with support...
