Many thanks to you all replying to my previous question. I have been told by Knightstone Housing (via council) that a Gas safe (CORGI) fitter must do it. Do I really need to pay out up to £80 for him to do this? Would a good bloke with a brain cell legally suffise? I look forward to your replies. Ta.
I think this is one of the most stupid laws doing the rounds. To connect a gas cooker is just sooo easy. It's simply like a lpug. One end polugs into the other end. And as long as you check for leaks using a little washing up liquid, no leak means £80 saved!
£80 for literally 20 seconds work! Talk about a rip off!
I know if it leaks perhaps you'd rather get in somebody else to repair it.
